Bleeps and Bloops

This is my exploration into analog synthesis inspired by building an 8-bit CPU based on the work of Ben Eater. I got into this following a visit to the 2025 Vintage Computer Festival at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA. As a computer geek building a CPU was fun but I was intrigued by the clock and how the speed was set by a 555 timer controlled, in turn, by a capacitor and a variable resistor. This was different from the digital world I was way more familiar with.

I’d also had a longer interest in the sounds analog synths make and enjoyed the exploration of vintage synths, furby organs, drone walls, etc. etc. that LMNC has been doing for some time. I also learned a lot from The AudioPhool although the maths can get a bit hairy. Then I discovered Moritz Klein‘s channel and began to learn more about how this stuff (the capacitors, resistors, and other bits) came together.
